Ian sent me two photos today. The one with Colin Thomas and him was taken one afternoon when Ian wanted to get home and was suitably 'bored', whilst Colin stood there grinning. The other was taken out on the steps of the School of Education. I know from Ian that Colin celebrated his birthday on September 3. So here is wishing him a happy belated birthday. Colin is a really nice and considerate person. Many years ago when I was studying in Bristol, this kind gentleman found out that it was my birthday and he gave me a present that he specially made by himself. It was a wooden spatula with engraved words and designs. I treasure his gift and have kept it until this day.
