The nyonya kuih or Nyonya cakes are sold in the market place and hawker centres in Malaysia. Most of these cakes are made from flour and have fillings made from coconut, jam, red bean paste. The red pancake like ones are called angku. In the other tray, we have cakes made from different types of flour with different types of flavourings. The pyramid shaped green packs are actually nasi lemak. A type of rice cooked in coconut milk and eaten with a savoury dish made from either anchovies, fish or prawns. Slices of cucumber and eggs are added. This is a very Malaysian dish.
