MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL

Tomorrow is the 15th day of the eighth month according to the Chinese lunar calendar and the Chinese around the world celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival. We celebrate with lanterns and mooncakes. Also, Chinese of the Taoist faith might pray to the Moon Goddess with offerings of joss-sticks, candles, fruits and flowers. Also, if one were to put a pail or a basin of water when the full moon is out and leave the water to absorb the moon's energy, the "charged water" is said to be blessed by the Moon Goddess. I learnt about this a couple of years ago and have since used it to wash my face when I found out from some elders that the blessed water makes one more beautiful and younger looking. Vain creature, aren't I? Heh! Heh!
